Community Foundation to provide grantmaking support to Hubbell-Waterman Foundation

The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation, a charitable trust in the Quad Cities that recently celebrated 50 years supporting culture and the arts, early childhood education and social welfare, is now partnering with the Quad Cities Community Foundation for its annual grantmaking program.

The foundation was started by Mary Hubbell Waterman and Larned Allen Waterman in 1967 as a memorial to their parents James Windsor Hubbell and Charles Dana Waterman, individuals whose generosity was an example of giving back to the community.

“The board of trustees of The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation is very pleased to partner with the Community Foundation in the support and fulfillment of our annual grantmaking program,” said C. Dana Waterman III, trustee. “Our organizational missions align well for the building up of our Quad Cities community. We value the expertise and experience the Community Foundation brings and we look forward to the growth of our impact through this partnership.” 

Starting with their current grantmaking cycle, The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation will accept applications through a new online grants system called Foundant, an application system familiar to many Quad Cities nonprofits. The Community Foundation will provide grantmaking services to The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation by managing the online grant system and providing technical support to applicants.

Applications are now being accepted until September 1, 2018. All review and decisions will continue to be made by the trustees of The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation.
